Digit started as an automated savings app that helped users set aside small amounts of money toward their goals. In 2021, it evolved into a broader fintech platform for banking, saving, and investing called Digit Direct, ahead of its acquisition by $OPRT.
My journey with Digit began in 2019 as a long-term client partner and transitioned into a full-time role in 2021 as a Senior Product Designer. While my primary focus was product design, I frequently collaborated cross-functionally with brand and marketing teams across a wide range of initiatives.
One of the most rewarding aspects of working at a startup is the opportunity to make an impact across various areas. Below are a few key projects I contributed to during my tenure as part of the app relaunch.

Digit Direct
The move towards Digit Direct began with a design sprint to explore new styles for the app's user experience. My initial focus was on reimagining the dashboard, experimenting with a variety of styles and layouts. Once we aligned on a direction, I extended the design to other parts of the app, providing a cohesive vision for the team to follow in their respective areas of focus.
After co-leading the app redesign, I extended that vision to the public launch in collaboration with the marketing team. We started with a teaser site and waitlist experience, gamifying signups through referrals. My focus was elevating the brand into something more professional and trustworthy while preserving the playful, non-traditional fintech aesthetic users loved. A highlight was partnering with illustrator Matt Carlson, where I stepped into an art direction role, guiding the illustration style that became a defining element across the app and marketing materials.
